TechClub Presentation - UPCT - Microsoft - ENCAMINA

As consultant for the Microsoft‑ENCAMINA Chair and coordinator of the UPCT TechClub, I presented the Club’s mission and the first set of activities we will run. The UPCT–Microsoft–ENCAMINA alliance seeks to foster local talent by connecting academic learning with industry practice, and the TechClub is one of the Chair’s key initiatives to make that connection concrete.
During the presentation I outlined the core benefits that Club members will receive: access to exclusive scholarships, technical training, and support preparing for professional certifications. I also described the program of activities we are developing — regular technical talks, hands-on training sessions, teamwork and collaboration tools, and opportunities to participate in international student competitions such as the Imagine Cup.
The ENCAMINA‑Microsoft classroom at ETSIT will act as the TechClub’s regular meeting point and a daily teaching space. We plan to equip the classroom with multimedia resources and an external information panel to broadcast Club activities and announcements.
My role in the Chair and the TechClub focuses on coordinating these initiatives, organising events and training, and serving as a point of contact between students, the University and our industry partners. The goal is to provide students with practical skills and a clearer view of the research and employment opportunities created by cloud technologies.
Earlier that day there was a successful 4Research session on Azure, which complemented the Club launch and highlighted the technical topics we plan to bring to students throughout the year.
