Community - Team Building

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve invested significant time and energy in building technical communities and fostering collaborative environments. These experiences have shaped my leadership style, taught me the value of diverse perspectives, and reinforced my belief that innovation happens when people work together toward shared goals.

Microsoft Student Partner

Microsoft Student Partner Program

I was proud to be part of the Microsoft Student Partner (MSP) program in Spain—a global initiative that recognizes and supports student leaders who are passionate about technology and committed to helping their peers learn and grow. As an MSP, I represented Microsoft on campus, organized technical workshops and training sessions, and connected students with resources, tools, and opportunities to develop their skills in cloud computing, AI, and software development.

The MSP community provided me with access to a network of like-minded students across Spain and internationally, creating opportunities to share knowledge, collaborate on projects, and learn from each other’s experiences. This role taught me how to engage diverse audiences, communicate technical concepts effectively, and build inclusive environments where everyone feels empowered to contribute.

TechClub UPCT — activities

TechClub UPCT

As general coordinator of TechClub UPCT, I led efforts to create a student-driven technical community focused on bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practice. Through partnerships with Microsoft and ENCAMINA, we built a platform that offered students scholarships, technical certifications, hands-on projects, and mentorship from industry professionals.

Coordinating TechClub meant managing a multidisciplinary team, organizing events and workshops, securing resources and sponsorships, and ensuring that every activity delivered tangible value to participants. It required balancing competing priorities, resolving conflicts, and continuously adapting our approach based on feedback and evolving needs.

This experience taught me the importance of clear communication, shared vision, and distributed leadership. I learned that successful communities aren’t built by individuals—they’re built by teams that trust each other, share responsibilities, and hold themselves accountable to collective goals.

EncuentraSport

My involvement with EncuentraSport as Technical Lead further reinforced the importance of team building. Leading the engineering team for a junior enterprise meant not only delivering technical solutions but also creating an environment where students could experiment, fail safely, learn from mistakes, and grow their technical and interpersonal skills.

Why community building matters for my development

These initiatives have been instrumental in shaping who I am today:

  • Leadership: I learned that leadership isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about asking the right questions, empowering others, and creating conditions where teams can succeed.
  • Collaboration: Working with diverse teams taught me to value different perspectives, navigate conflicts constructively, and build consensus around shared objectives.
  • Communication: I developed the ability to tailor messages to different audiences, facilitate productive discussions, and build trust through transparent and consistent communication.
  • Resilience: Managing teams and communities taught me to handle ambiguity, adapt to unexpected challenges, and stay motivated when progress is slow or uncertain.
  • Impact mindset: I realized that sustainable impact comes from enabling others—not just building great solutions, but also building great teams that can continue innovating long after I’ve moved on.

These experiences have shaped my approach to professional work, reinforced my commitment to collaborative problem-solving, and deepened my understanding of how technology and people intersect to create meaningful change.
